The Noble Smiley — A Twisted Old Master

Old masters, new attitude. This Pop Art Wall Art takes a classic baroque portrait — rich fur, medals, and formal old-world gravitas — and subverts it with a bold acid smiley face, creating a composition that is irreverent, original, and hard to ignore.

Edgy, witty, and original. The kind of piece that makes an interior instantly more interesting.

Pop Art Wall Art — Acid Smiley Face on Classic Old Master Portrait

Reproduced on thick 250gsm art paper using a giclee printing process, this piece takes the formality of a classic baroque portrait — rich costume, golden chain, fur-trimmed robes — and overlays it with a bold yellow acid smiley face that transforms the composition. The contrast between old-world gravitas and contemporary pop culture irreverence creates a piece with strong visual wit.

Whether your interior leans bold contemporary, pop art, eclectic, or simply needs a conversation piece with subversive edge and artistic character, this print commands any wall with irreverent confidence — pairing naturally with dark wood, industrial finishes, bold colour accents, and graphic monochrome palettes.

Baroque grandeur. Acid smiley. Strong tension.

This pop art wall art with acid smiley on old master portrait brings art history into a playful contemporary setting — a noble subject stripped of pretension by a single, well-placed yellow circle. Part of a series of edgy, twisted takes on classic paintings that reward every viewing with detail and dry wit.
