This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Curtin family crest against the Irish National Tartan.

The Curtin Name in Ireland

The Irish is Mac Cruitín, and the family were hereditary poets — ollamhs to the O'Briens of Thomond — with their ground in west Clare. The last great name in that long trade, Aodh Buí Mac Cruitín, published a vindication of Ireland's antiquity in 1717 and helped compile an English-Irish dictionary in Paris in 1732. The name spread south into Cork and Kerry, where it sometimes wears the form Curtayne, while McCurtin keeps the older spelling.

How the Curtin Blanket Is Made

Woven, not printed.
